This individual will be responsible for overseeing the distillation process during the day shift, ensuring that our spirits meet our exacting standards for quality and consistency.
Responsibilities:
Distillation:
Operate and monitor the distillation equipment, including stills and associated machinery, to produce high-quality spirits while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Recipe Execution:
Follow and execute recipes for the production of spirits, ensuring that the correct ingredients, quantities, and processes are employed to maintain product consistency.
Quality Control:
Regularly sample and test products to ensure they meet our quality standards, making necessary adjustments to maintain product integrity.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of distillation equipment to ensure a clean and safe work environment and prevent contamination.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including distillation data, product quantities, and quality control parameters.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with local and federal regulations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members, including other distillers, cellar workers, and management, to coordinate production and maintain an efficient workflow.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and quality enhancements, and actively participate in discussions aimed at refining our distillation processes.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a distiller in a similar role within a distillery or related field.
Strong understanding of distillation processes, equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in distillery operations.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and make decisions under pressure.
Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills.
Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment or materials.
A commitment to producing high-quality spirits and a passion for the craft.
This position will work 12 hour shifts 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am.
Two Days on, 2 Days off, every other weekend schedule.
