As a Materials Procurement/Planner, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and inventory control of raw materials, ensuring timely availability while optimizing costs.
The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP and a strong background in Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to support our production operations efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize SAP and MRP systems to analyze demand, create production schedules, and manage inventory levels of raw materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Procurement, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth operations and on-time delivery of materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize inventory turns, minimize stockouts, and reduce carrying costs.
- Analyze historical data and industry trends to forecast future material requirements and anticipate potential risks or opportunities.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Generate reports and provide regular updates on materials planning, procurement, and inventory management to management and stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline materials planning and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Materials Planner, Production Planner, or similar role within the beverage industry, preferably in distillery operations.
1-2 Years experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP, particularly in MRP planning.
- Solid understanding of materials management principles, inventory control, and procurement processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the beverage industry, such as FDA and TTB regulations, is a plus.
- Professional certifications in supply chain management (e.
g.
, APICS, CSCP) are desirable.
