We're building a new icon in the distilled spirits industry with a focus on quality whiskey and a renegade spirit.
That spirit is exemplified by our homage to Lancaster local Carry A.
Nation, a pre-prohibition temperance activist famous for assaulting saloons with a hatchet to make a powerful statement against drunkenness in America.
It was common in those days to have All Nations Welcome, Except Carry posted above the entrance to an alcohol serving establishment to invite thirsty patrons in.
Similarly, we want our whiskey to be a welcome addition to places of camaraderie everywhere and we would like your help in building that legacy.
With minimal supervision the Quality Analyst is responsible for the daily completion of analytical tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and final products involved in the whiskey production process.
These quality control tests are all conducted with the goal of contributing to the production of high quality distilled spirits.
They are expected to complete tasks independently as well as be able to work with other team members towards common goals.
They should be able to troubleshoot basic issues with laboratory equipment and problem solve as needed.
The lab technician is expected to follow safety protocols inside the lab as well as in the wider distillery.
They will be able to accurately log results of conducted tests and be able to communicate those results to other team members.
As part of the distillery team, they will analyze what laboratory results represent in the context of distillery operations.
Responsibilities ? Conduct routine analysis in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures utilizing lab equipment such as density meters, automatic titrators, cell counting equipment and HPLC systems ? Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment ? Interpret gathered data in order to make recommendations for fermentation processes ? Assist with the development of new Standard Operating Procedures as well as further refining existing ones as part of the quality control team ? Conduct routine sample collection throughout the distillery ? Set up and participate in sensory analysis (including the tasting of alcoholic beverages) ? Help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as standards set by All Nations ? Promote personnel and process safety in the Laboratory ? Promote the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory environment ? Other duties as assigned Qualifications ? Minimum Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science or equivalent laboratory experience ? Working knowledge of laboratory techniques and practices ? Experience with word and excel as well as good general computer skills ? Preference for 1 to 3 years of laboratory experience ? Preference for experience with computerized laboratory equipment ? Preference for Continuous Improvement experience This position is schedule Wednesday - Saturday 6:
30am to 5pm.
